I\\’m sure you\\’re wondering how old is Grandma? My grandmother is 80 years old and I can tell you that she is a really big chipper. Sometimes I think to myself that when I get to be her age, I either won\\’t live to see it, or I will live to see it, but I won\\’t be as chipper as her. I think that people who are that chipper at that age have really big advantages and, most importantly, they can manage everything on their own and they don\\’t have to rely on some social worker to take care of them or put those old people in an institution somewhere. These are very unpleasant situations and I am glad for my grandmother that she is the way she is and I would never change her for anything in my life.  Imagine if one day she came to me and told me that she wanted to learn how to use the computer and that she wanted to look up some things on the internet. I was very surprised by that, but I was so pleased because her vivacity really came through in such a very intense way that I was happy and I was looking at the fact that she even said something like that. Of course, I was very happy to praise her at that moment and I told her that I would show her calmly things that were about the computer and the internet, and even though she had never had a clue about it, she was very good at it. I taught her how to turn the computer on and off, I taught her how to go on the Internet and how to look up certain things on the list.  I think it\\’s just a great joy when someone that old suddenly remembers all of a sudden that they want to know how to do something like that because they\\’ve never had any experience with it before. It\\’s certainly better when you\\’re that age to try to be one who keeps up with the times, and that\\’s exactly what my grandmother was. She\\’s not backward and she\\’s trying to get in touch with people who are maybe my age, who are younger, and she\\’s trying to get involved in these very things that weren\\’t around in her youth. My grandfather is no longer alive, but I think he would definitely be very proud of my grandmother because it\\’s beautiful to see these old people who are so spry and especially have that great positivity about them, and that\\’s something that some people at that age don\\’t have anymore.
